Designs, Dogs and Doubt

Graphic Design one. I searched for a product that would use an image like my eye picture, and found a company that did, so I recreated this using my picture.

Second graphic design. Took one of my favorite pictures of Mindy and turned it into a Pedigree ad :)

The next 4 pictures are shot from my day in the studio with Elizabeth :)

I really like this shot... I know Molly isn't in focus, but I love the sharpness of the hands in contrast with the softness of Mol and the intensity of her look.

Another different shot. I wasn't sure about putting this up, because her face isn't in the picture, but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it.

A nice shot of Molly. I caught this as I was sitting in the living room waiting for Mindy to come home.

Another shot of Molly.

Molly giving her usual glare.

The next two pictures mean a good bit to me, because this past week Mindy ran away. She was gone for two days and I wasn't sure if I'd ever see her again. So these pics are a happy ending to a pretty crappy week.

Mindy in the tub, getting a bath to clean all the dirt out of her fur; She wasn't too pleased with me.

Same picture in Black and White. I wasn't sure which one I liked better. I think each has it's own feel to it.

Selective color work for my regular Photography class.

Blue ^.^ Selective color again, and I bumped up the saturation slightly to bring out the blue-ish color the light was casting on the carpet.

Final selective color. My Flute :)

Another selective color.... was missing my boyfriend when I made this, but I really liked how it turned out. The lyrics on the paper are from our song, "Find A Way" by The Used.

Portraits and Silly Puppies

My little cousin sitting in one of the chairs in the living room.

Him peeking over the edge of my desk.

Mindy licking her nose.

A Difference

Was trying for a different approach to my pictures this time, trying to expand my horizons and try different things.

Was working more with design elements in this picture, and I really liked the play of the shadows streaming in from the window. The expression in her face turned out soft, and nostalgic almost.

Working again with design elements playing with the diagonals of the shadows coming from the window. I also really like Mindy's pose in this picture. She seems to pose in a lot of her other ones, and this one seemed more natural.

Had an opportunity to get into the studio this past week, and I really loved this shot. Specifically because of the shadow play on the phone. It's mirroring the check shape of the Verizon icon.

A creative assignment for my Studio class. Played a lot with different things, and really loved this shot.

I'm currently experimenting with merging my two favorite phone shots, taking the shadow from the previous pic, and applying it to the more appealing position of the phone in this picture :)

A very odd, and strangely human like pose from Mindy.
That doesn't seem to be her good side :D

Different Shots

This was taken during for a photography scavenger hunt. The key word was 'red, round, and fruity'. I decided against just shooting an apple, and got a little creative. This apple got caught red handed ^.^
The key words for this were 'something that begins with your first initial'. My dogs name is Mindy, but I call her Chibi, which means little one in Japanese :)

This was a shot for 'double circles'.

After:

A landscape shot of a tree down the street from my house. This was taken for 'a simple pleasure'. And living out here in the peace and quiet is a simple pleasure :)

A Warm-Up to Photography

Mindy staring out my front window, looking particularly wise. She loves posing for the camera and it makes photographing her that much more fun.

More of a candid shot. She moved to yawn just as I snapped this and it ended up looking more like she was laughing.

A slightly different angle then the window picture. Moved more to face her and got a better light around her muzzle.

A shot I challenged myself with. I'm usually not good with photographing people, and caught a rather candid moment. My little cousin had just finished eating and was dozing off, so I snapped a shot.
